Admission Testing¶
L2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have become a mainstream feature in passenger vehicles. China's first mandatory national standard for L2 ADAS — Safety Requirements for Intelligent Connected Vehicle Combined Driving Assistance Systems (approval draft) — was published for public comment in April 2026 and will come into force in January 2027. This standard clearly defines L2 system classification, safety baselines, and multi-level verification requirements, significantly increasing compliance pressure for industry admission.
In this context, L2 admission testing faces several core challenges:
- Real-world road scenarios are complex and unpredictable; edge and extreme conditions (such as heavy rain, hidden pedestrians, and construction zones) are difficult to reproduce;
- Physical vehicle testing has long cycles, high costs, and significant risks, with insufficient scenario coverage;
- Facing the standard's rigid requirements on functional boundaries and SOTIF, traditional physical testing struggles to efficiently meet compliance targets, precisely quantify performance, or quickly adapt to vehicle model and algorithm iterations.
